Fortnite is a battle royal game that brings players onto an island to fight for survival. The players jump off what is called the ‘battle bus’, and from there players glide onto the map, and begin their fight. Throughout the years the game has updated their art style, as well as the graphics within the game, including the scenery, character look, and other customization options.

In the game, the customizations of the character alone are immense. There are dozens upon hundreds of different skins the user can pick and choose from. These skins include variations of different characters, such as skins that look like actual people, and other types such as a banana. The skins that look like actual people have correct body proportions, as well as realistic looking hair for those skins that have hair. Almost every character skin has different customizable options, which could consist of a hair color change, an outfit change, a change in the skin color, or a combination of those characteristics. In the customization department, there are also tools that can be customized. The user has different tool skins that can be held in a single hand like an ax, pickaxe, or a large mallet. This gives the game a wide range of colors used in the color palette.

The color palette itself is a spectrum across all possible colors. With blues, purples, grays, and other colors for the sky alone, there isn’t a color that will not be seen in this game. Items have a glow around when they are laying on the ground, and there are different colors to specify the rank of the weapons, such as gray for common, green for uncommon, blue for rare, purple as epic, and gold as legendary. Adding into the color palette, throughout the map there are buildings, monuments, and even temples, which vary in color, such as a blue or yellow house or a moss covered temple. The trees look realistic and the player can even maneuver a way into the trees, as well as even fire that gets spread during the battle. Houses do look realistic as well as other buildings and landmarks that are in the game.
