Goat Simulator is a free world exploration game that the user plays as a goat. The user can go around and do crazy things as a goat. The user can headbutt objects and other players in the game. There are also little secrets hidden around the map, such as a jetpack the goat can wear. There is also a feature in the game that allows the goat to lick an object or person and they will be tethered to it.

The game’s color palette is very natural, with realistic colors for the grass and other plants. There are some vehicles in the game and they do look realistic. The people that are in the game are realistic, taking into consideration head size, body proportions, and even body movement. The design in the game has realistic clouds, as well as texture within the grass, trees, and even the animals and characters. The goats and other animals have browns, whites, blacks, and a few other colors for the design. The in-game characters also have different designs for their clothing, such as one person having a striped t-shirt and another wearing a solid color jacket. The buildings also have some texture and definition as well, even including chimney smoke that moves and will sway with wind. The houses have definition on the siding, as well as definition of roof shingles.
Lighting is another key feature of the game, as the game uses a sun point. This way shadows are casted and they change based on the location of the user. In a field there will be a lot of sun, but a tower will cast a large shadow. Inside buildings are also going to have more shadows than light. Adding onto that there are even shadows within the blades of grass themselves, which adds to the realistic approach they have. Even passing cars on the street casts a shadow that moves with the position of the sun in the game as well as the direction they are going on the roads.
